Centro Melbourne is a cozy art café tucked into a busy strip on Queen Street, offering a blend of quality coffee, casual dining, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. It’s the kind of place where locals drop in for a morning pick-me-up or a relaxing catch-up over food and drinks, whether it’s brunch, an afternoon pause, or an early evening unwind.

The coffee here is a standout, attracting those who appreciate well-crafted espresso and refreshing iced lattes that rank among the city’s better offerings. The café pairs this with a modest but thoughtfully prepared menu, featuring items like empanadas and creative toasties that pair well with the beverage selection. Portion sizes lean toward the moderate side, which fits the easy-going café vibe rather than a full meal replacement, making it a perfect spot for sharing small plates or a light lunch.

The atmosphere at Centro is friendly and inviting, with a noticeable buzz but not overwhelming. It strikes a balance between a laid-back neighborhood spot and a vibrant social hub, supported by a soundtrack of good music that blends well with conversation. The staff are a key part of the experience here – approachable and warm, they add to the sense of familiarity and community that regulars come back for.

Besides coffee and food, the café also offers a selection of local beers and a small cocktail menu, making it flexible for different times of day and moods. It’s a place that effortlessly shifts from morning routines to casual brunches, afternoon remote work sessions, or late-day drinks with friends.

For anyone exploring the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, Centro fits neatly into the urban rhythm – a spot to slow down amid the city’s pace. Its warmth and personality make it especially popular with people who value connection and comfort in their café visits, whether they’re locals looking for a reliable hangout or visitors seeking a genuine slice of Melbourne day-to-day life.

Loved the iced latte - one of the best I’ve had Value for money: found that the dishes are quite small and $4.5 for one empanada is a little much IMO. Chicken pesto toastie Doberman Empanadas The atmosphere was pretty nice and the place is vibing. Staff was super friendly.

Centro is just the warmest place for a nice coffee, meal and chat in the city. Both Sebas and Alex are so nice to talk to and welcoming. Will go every time I can.

One of my fav places in Melbs. Perfect for any plan - brunch, catch up with friends, drinks, I have even worked remotely there a few times Love how they always make me feel at home. Centro is a must! Try the arepa with chicken pesto on top, and thank me later. :)

Amazing! Sebastian and Alex provides the best service and hands down the BEST coffee in Melbourne. Definitely my new “go to” cafe. Worth the 500m walk from the office every morning.

Amazing arepas with campesino cheese. Love their coffee too, but what I value the most, is the good vibe the team brings. Thanks guys!!!!
